From the 1/14th Daily Journal for 28-30 NOVEMBER 1966.

28 NOVEMBER -30 NOVEMBER 1966 These days were spent in cleaning ourselves, our weapons, our equipment, and catching up on sleep and hot chow. During the year, from the first combat assault into LZ "Ace" in February to the extraction from LZ Lane yesterday, the Golden Dragons had killed at least 550 PAVN, wounded hundreds of others of the enemy, and had destroyed his plans for every major operation in our area. To say the Golden Dragons have been the finest fighting outfit in Vietnam would be justified, and considering the magnificent performance of our sister units, the 1st and 2nd Battalions, 35th Infantry, this put us in the finest company of fighting men the United States Army ever had.
